Not satisfied with postings, IPS officers seeking central deputation | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 18: Not satisfied with their postings in the state, more and more IPS officers are nowadays seeking central deputations to serve in the central agencies. While eight IPS officers had this year already proceeded on central deputation, there were four others who were waiting for the central nod. Two officers, whose deputation period expired, had got it extended with the help of their acquaintances in MHA, police sources said. The officers who got central deputation this year included two ADGPs, four IGPs and two SSPs. ADGP S M Sahai was posted by the state government in the office of Resident Commissioner, New Delhi. However, within a week of his posting there, he got his name cleared for the central deputation and got a big posting. Naveen Kumar Aggarwal got the central posting in June this year. IGPs - Hemant Kumar Lohia, Deepak Kumar and Gareeb Dass - have also proceeded on central deputations. Viplav Kumar has taken one year central deputation for higher studies. Neeva Jain and Sujeet Kumar got the central postings this month. Sources said most of them had opted for central postings after failing to get good postings in the state. Four more had applied to MHA. As and when there were vacancies for them, they too would be getting the MHA nod for central postings. Sources said even as the state was faced with the shortage of senior police officers, more and more of them were proceeding on central deputations.
