US cautions Pakistan against safety of nuclear weapons
11/2/2016 9:47:55 PM
Washington continues to caution India against terror threat emanating from Pakistan. This note of caution has been sounded after over 60 ceasefire violations on the LOC and on the IB in Jammu and Kashmir since the Surgical operation carried out by the Indian troops in the middle of September. In fact the basic purpose of the surgical operation was to eliminate militants who had been brought on the launch pads for being pushed into Jammu and Kashmir so as to give a fillip to the level of violence that had swept Kashmir since July 8 soon after the killing of militant commander Burhan Wani.if reports from Washington are to be relied on the Pentagon has warned that there continues to be a terror threat from within Pakistan to the Pakistani people and to outside, even as it acknowledged that "more can be done" to address the issue"Focusing on counter-terrorism has been a big part of our ongoing conversations with Pakistan and will continue to be a major focus of our efforts with Pakistan," Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook has said.It means that Washington is in touch with Islamabad so that the establishment, including the Pak Army, initiate measures for ending the menace of terror which could harm Pakistan and its neighbor, India.
The US believes that there continues to be a terrorist threat within Pakistan against the Pakistani people and also posing a threat outside of Pakistan and Washington will continue to work closely with the Pakistan government to try and address the issue. The US thinks there's more that can be done and this is something that will continue to be a major issue. The United States continues to have regular communication with Pakistani counterparts on the safety and security of nuclear weapons. The US is watching the situation and the region closely. This is a part of the world that's had its share of political upheaval in recent years and this is something that we'll watch carefully and that in particular with regard to our military relationship we'll continue to engage our counterparts on that front. The United States, is engaged on a regular basis with Pakistani military counterparts.
Washington will continue to have the conversation that may continue to ensure stability in the region, stability of Pakistan, and of course, the terrorism threat that emanates from Pakistan and the area.Since Pentagon is the highest seat of the Defence in the US it is time that Islamabad takes notice of the report from the Pentagon without any bias and partiality. It is time that the Army of Pakistan should came down heavily on terrorist groups, shut their arms training camps and eliminate terrorist groups without giving weightage to any group.Well Islamabad believes that either Lashkar-i-Toiba or Jaiesh-e-Mohammad activists could help the Army and the Government in Pakistan in ensuring either Azadi for Kashmir or its incorporation with Pakistan. Before wishing for the moon let Pakistan ensure its survival and a day is not far off when terrorist attacks emanating from Pakistan on Afghanistan,on India and in Jammu and Kashmir could not face a severe retaliation. Already if one civilian is killed when Pak forces violate ceasefire more than seven civilians get killed in Indian retaliation and the story is similary when the Pak troops attack either the Indian Army or the BSF outposts. And it has been seen that in the Indian retaliatory fire Pakistan has suffered a lot. And if the Pentagon report is taken note of it means that the nuclear weapons and the nuclear bombs could fall in the hands of terrorists and if that happened Pakistan is finished.
