Talk about reconciliation as Rangers kill civilians on Jammu borders | Kashmir leaders want India to surrender before Pak | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 2: Despite Pakistan resorting to heavy shelling and attacking civilians near Line of Control (LoC) and International Border in Samba, Poonch and Rajouri in Jammu region, Kashmiri leaders are talking about the reconciliation and holding talks with Pakistan. Reacting sharply to the assertions of the politicians to hold parleys with Pakistan a critic said, "Eight civilians lost their lives in unprovoked shelling by Pakistan Rangers on Tuesday. More than 24 persons, including minors, sustained injuries and our soldiers are dying everyday. Pakistan is not interested in talks it just believes in violence and killings. The neighbouring country has to be taught a lesson as it has waged a war against our country." An analyst said, "The surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army had pushed the Pakistan and terrorists on back foot. It seems the time provided by India to the terrorists and Pakistan has once again emboldened them and they are back to their dirty tricks." He said, "The surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army had shaken the Pakistan establishment and the terrorists, who have set up their base camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK). Had Army carried a few more strikes and dismantled the terror infrastructure at that point of time many lives could have been saved on our side." A defence analyst said, "It's not for the first time that Pakistan has violated the ceasefire and has targeted the civilians. It has been doing it for the past 25-years by sending terrorists and fighting a proxy war against India. The need of the hour is to launch a counter offensive and teach Pakistan a lesson once for all." He said, "On one hand Pakistan has taken Kashmir hostage by activating its agents in the Valley. They (Pak agents) are not allowing situation to return to normal, while on other hand it has intensified attacks on the LoC. Pakistan besides fighting a proxy war in Kashmir is keeping the Army busy on frontiers. It's strange that instead of reacting and giving Pak army a befitting reply a few people are talking about reconciliation and holding talks with Pakistan." A politician said, "Kashmiri leaders should stop playing politics over dead bodies and stop harping about Pakistan and its role in Kashmir. Our desire for peace is being considered as our weakness. This is creating a wrong notion. The border people who are the worst sufferers are also demanding stern action against Pakistan and its notorious army which is attacking civilians with mortar shells and bombs." |
