GMCH administration wasting funds on unwarranted works | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 2: On one hand administration of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu has been crying over shortage of funds, on the other hand it is wasting available funds for unnecessary civil works like dismantling of pathway in the Super specialty hospital. Official Sources stated that the GMC&H and its associated hospitals are in dire need of funds to upgrade the basic and latest facilities in the various departments and concerned HoDs have been seeking these facilities repeatedly. "Even, the Principal of GMC&H Jammu has stated in the High Court that funds provided to the GMC & H, Jammu and its associated hospitals are not even half of the funds allocated to hospitals in Kashmir, "they further added. They also said that whenever any faculty member visited the office of the Principal seeking required facilities; the Principal refused arguing shortage of funds. "But there was no need to repair or dismantle pathway as it could have been serviceable for couple of more years but the road (path) is being dismantled and wasting funds on unwanted works in the SSH Jammu. Official sources alleged that same funds could have been used to buy and upgrade existing facilities. |
