Jammu, Nov 2: Smelling fishy in the death of 28-year-old Sadhaya Arora, the civil society has sought a high level enquiry into the demise, alleging that death was caused due to mismanagement on the part of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H).
The members of civil society, during condolence meeting said that Dengue is not deadly disease and over thousands of cases are registered in hospitals daily, but in case of death of Sadhaya Arora, there is huge negligence on the part of GMC administration.
They demanded a high level probe into the death of young entrepreneur, especially role of GMC administration.
"A high level enquiry should be called to ascertain hidden facts behind the death of Sadhaya. Every single doctor, paramedical staff and others shall be questioned regarding series of treatment provided to the Sadhaya," demanded civil society, adding that the guilty person shall be punished, so that such unfortunate incidents may not repeat.
They further said that every person in the hospital should be made accountable, so that such untimely and unprecedented deaths shall be avoided.
"Sadhaya Arora, son of MLC Ramesh Arora was gem in computers, especially in hardware and was also managing family business," said civil society members during condolence meet.
The members of the civil society were flanked by the friends and relatives of the deceased youth, who demanded reasons behind the death.
Those who demanded action against guilty doctors and enquiry into the entire episode included, Advocate Ritesh Gupta, Chandan Sethi, Surinder Dogra, Kunal Gandotra, Amit Dogra, Rajesh Kapoor and Ajay Verma among others.
Pertinent to mention, Sadhaya was admitted at GMC on October 17 with 38000 Platelets count and mild temperature and within one day his Platelet count was reduced to 16000.
On 18th October, 6 (six) points/packs were administered in 10-15 minutes. After which the blood sample was taken. The same sample was given to the GMC Laboratory and also sent to a private Laboratory. The GMC in its report had 62, 000 platelet counts, while as the private lab provided the count of 24000 (From the same sample).
In the evening the Head of Department instructed the concerned doctor to administer 4 (four) more points of fresh platelets.
The patient himself told his father that he overheard the staff saying that they have administered wrong platelets, due to which the body reacted badly to the platelets.
At around 3:30 am on the intervening night of October 18-19, we left for a private hospital in Ludhiana after hectic efforts were made by us for providing doctors to accompany us along with the ambulance.
"My son Sadhaya Arora, got treatment in a private hospital in Ludhiana and after two days he was shifted to PGI Chandigarh, where he expired after 12 hours," said MLC Arora.
