About 25 educational institutions were gutted under similar mysterious fire incidents in the Kashmir valley during the past three month unrest which erupted after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander Burhan Wani and two other militants in an encounter in Anantnag on July 8. Subsequent violence left 86 people dead and thousands injured in security force and police actions. Since then all educational institutions are closed due to strike called by separatists, demanding right to self determination. However, police claimed to have identified 35 miscreants allegedly involved in setting on fire the school building. Police said 21 have been arrested while search for remaining was going on. Police said there are reports that some of the accused have fled to Jammu and Chandigrah and teams will be sent there to arrest them.
