Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 2: High court judge Janak Raj Kotwal has stayed the promotion order of a doctor as state tuberculosis officer (STO) for being junior to another doctor. The court directive came in a petition filed by Dr Sujata Sharma wherein she had challenged the posting of Dr Poonam Mahajan, who was far junior to her, as STO whereas she was district tuberclosis officer (DTO). The petitioner has submitted that in the May 11, 2014 seniority list of Medical Officers, she figures at serial No 126 whereas Dr Poonam figures at serial No 225. Her grievance against the impugned order No 567-HME of October 20, 2015 is that the respondent had been posted as STO over and above her as she was posted as DTO, Samba. After hearing her counsel, Justice, while issuing notice to the respondents, ordered that subject to objections and till the next date before the bench, operation of the impugned order would remain stayed.
