DyCM once again visits border firing victims' families only to give assurance | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 19: Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh today once again visited the famiies of those were killed in Pakistani firing but only to give assurances to them like his previous visits. Victims of Pakistani firing have been waiting that State Government would handover ex-gratia to them but BJP leaders, who lined to visit these families for photo sessions, have failed to convence its coalition partner PDP to immediately sanction ex-gratia for these victims. Credible sources in the cooridors of the power that BJP ministers in the coalition are more concerned about their own welfare so they have failed to jointly put pressure on the Finance Department to immediately sanctioned relief without any delay. Except giving assurances BJP ministers have done nothing for victims of border firing. According to an official handout issued today, The Deputy Chief Minister interacted with the family members of those who lost their lives in the recent border firing in the villages of Bhallesar, Ratna and Salamachek in RS Pura area of Jammu. The Minister for Irrigation and PHE Sham Chaudhary, MLA RS Pura Dr Gagan Bhagat, DC Jammu Dr Simrandeep Singh and other senior officers of the administration, prominent citizens and local politicians accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister. While interacting with the family of the Gurnam Singh who attained martyrdom in the border firing at Bobia post in Hiranagar sector, the Deputy Chief Minister said the sacrifices rendered by the martyrs will be remembered for times to come as they have sacrificed their lives for upholding the unity and integrity of the nation. He said the people should be indebted to them and the exemplary valor being displayed by them while warding off the external aggression and threats of the enemy. The Deputy Chief Minister "assured" the family the government "would" provide all the necessary support to them including the provision of job to the next of the kin besides ensuring that the ex-gratia amount of Rs 5 lakh (from the Centre) and Rs 1 lakh from the state government is provided to them at the earliest. He also directed the officers for taking the necessary steps for renaming the Chowk at Ratnachek as 'Shaheed Gurnam Singh Chowk'. While interacting with the family members of the four-year old Rishabh, at Salamachek, who died after sustaining injuries due to the border firing in Ramgarh sector near Vijapur, the Deputy Chief Minister "assured" the family of the deceased of all possible support from the government. |
