BJP Mantri turns land broker, sells state land to his aides | Hum Nahin Sudhrenge! | | High command asks him to resign; Begs, kneels down to save his chair
PS Bali Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 19: A BJP cabinet minister turned "land broker," who reportedly "begged" before the party high command to save his chair, has failed to mend his ways and continues to misuse his official position, sources told Early Times. They said the BJP Minister was reprimanded by the party high command in New Delhi for allegedly encouraging corrupt practices and misusing his official position for selling state land at cheaper rates to his aides. Despite facing "humiliation" and literary falling at the feet of top leaders, the minister has not mend his ways as "habits die hard". The cabinet Minister, according to the sources, is busy in amassing huge wealth by selling and purchasing state land. Sources said that the minister in question was summoned by the party high command a few weeks ago to New Delhi following frequent complaints against him. "During meeting he was told that if he did not mend his ways, he will lose his ministry. The minister tried to pass the buck by blaming party leaders and MLAs for forcing him to sell the state land by influencing officials." Sources said the activities of the minister were monitored by the RSS activists , who asked BJP high command to take stern action against the minister as he was "maligning" the image of the party. "The minister in question was held responsible for selling and purchasing government land at cheap rates. The minister used to purchase state land on cheap rates and sell it to his aides," said sources, adding that he has sold several acres of land in the outskirts of his constituency for establishment of a firm. Sources said before calling him (Cabinet Minister) to national capital the party high command sent a letter to the minister asking him to tender his resignation."A letter was sent to the minister, asking him to resign from the cabinet after he was found misusing his position and filling his coffers," said sources, adding that the high command told the minister to resign as a punishment for his "misdeeds." 'Instead of tendering the resignation, the minister blamed state unit and claimed that he was intimidated by the party leaders and others to sell the state land. He moreover, promised the high command that he would not do anything against the interest of the party," sources said and added that the minister had "kneeled-down and begged" before the party high command to spare him. The minister, according to the sources, assured the party high command that he would work as per party whip. "Despite retaining his seat after kneeling down, the minister continues to sell and purchase the state land," sources said. |
