SPV Power Plant in Chiktan inaugurated

Kargil, Dec 4: To give relief to the patients and staff of Community Health Center Shakar Chiktan from the daily power curtailment and power shortage Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan along with Executive Councilor for Education and Power Advocate Mohammad Amir inaugurated a 10 KV SPV Power Project which will provide 24 hours power supply to the Health center.
Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan also inaugurated the heating system of Labour Room of the CHC where heat panel has been installed for heating the room which will be powered by the SPV Project only and also handed over 30 CFL blubs to the BMO Shakar Chiktan for the CHC.
The Power Project has been installed by Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA) under Ladakh Renewable Energy Initiative of MNRE.
Talking to media on this occasion Kacho Ahamd Ali Khan told that Power generated from Solar will be the only alternate to cover and mitigate the shortage of Electricity during winter power shortage period and to overcome the shortage one 5 Mega Watt SPV Project from the already sanctioned 5 mega SPV project, will be commissioned next year at Yourbaltak Kargil.
He further told that SPV Rooftop projects for Kargil town and many more are expected and the team led by Project Director KREDA Kacho Ahamd Ali Khan is working day and night to make Kargil the first energy sufficient district of J&K and in future Electricity will become the prime industry of Kargil district.
CEC also directed the Project Director KREDA and CMO Kargil to look for scope of panel heating in district hospital Kargil and other CHC in Kargil so that the yearly expenditure on central heating can be over-come which is a burden on the district budget. On this occasion CMO Kargil Dr Jaffar Akhone, Project Director KREDA Kacho Ahamd Ali Khan, Tehsildar Shakar Chiktan, BMO, Sarpanch and prominent citizens of Chiktan were also present
