Jammu, Dec 4: Dogri Sanstha Jammu has expressed its satisfaction on the nomination of Champa Sharma, a senior writer and former HoD of Dogri in Jammu university , as a member of Central Committee of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, the high power apex body of Academy. An emergency meeting of executive committee of Dogri Sanstha was held here today to review the nomination in wake of the agitation launched by the Sanstha . Terming it a delayed but corrective measure Chhatrapal president of Dogri Sanstha deplored that it is most unfortunate that the writers and intellectual have to go for agitation to secure legitimate and natural rights in the present dispensation. This was the bare minimum that the authorities of JKAACL could do to undo the injustice to the second largest spoken language of the state. Lalit Magotra ,convener , Dogri Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi , expressed his gratitude towards Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Amar Kashitriya Rajput Sabha, JPPF Jammu ,Dogri Sahitya Sabha Khour , Dogri Sahitya Sabha Marh, Adabi Kunj , Dogri Bhasha Academy and other literary and social organization for extending support to the agitation launched by Dogri Sanstha to get representation for Dogri in the reconstituted Central Committee of JKAACL . It is pertinent to mention that Dogri Sanstha had earlier decided to boycott the Academy and stage a Dharna on 6th December in the premises of Abhinav Theatre to protest against the discrimination meted out to Dogri by denying representation in CC. Consequent upon the fulfillment of the demand the writers' dharna is called back . The executive hoped that Champa Sharma would further the cause of Dogri and come true to the expectations of Dogri speaking people. |
