'No Work' strike for last four days in favor of long pending demands

Rajouri, Dec 4: Need Base, Daily Wagers, ITI trained and CP workers of Public Health Engineering (PHE) department have started 'No Work' strike for the last four days in favor of their long pending demands.
These employees have been demanding permanent jobs as most of them have served the department for the last more than 7-15 years and many among them have not received their wages for the last more than one month.
Anup Singh,Barkat Hussain, Tahir Ahmed and many other employees have leveled serious allegations against the senior officers for deliberately ignoring the names of those genuine employees in the lists for permanent jobs in order to adjust their blue eyed persons.
"Many such employees have been added in the lists forwarded for the permanent jobs which are either working as domestic helpers at the residences of senior officers or those daily laborers who were hired by the department for laying pipes/other works and were not paid wages and the money was misappropriated" said one of the protesting employee.
He added these poor daily wagers facing many problems in meeting their domestic needs due to non-payment of their salaries for the last many months despite assurances by the concerned Minister and senior officials" said Shawl.
He warned the department to come on the roads along with their families and children if the department failed to full fill their demands of permanent jobs, release of pending salaries etc.
Protesting employees alleged that the State Government, senior officials of the department deliberately ignoring the employees despite the fact that the matter was several times discussed / brought into their notices in the past.
They once again requested the State Government and the department to fulfill their demands including permanent jobs for those who have completed 7 years or more and release of their long pending wages.
