Mandi, Dec 4: Because of the apathetic attitude of authorities concerned and local politics, Fatehpur panchayat, about 9 km from here, lacks basic facilities.
Inhabitants of Fatehpur, Kalani and Kehnu, which fall under the panchayat, today said that nearly 2,500 voters of the area were suffering due to its under development. Alleging embezzlement of funds by some officials in connivance with some 'villagers', they have demanded a probe to expose the 'corrupt'. They alleged that though they suffered a lot during the 2014 floods, no help was extended to them despite their repeated visits to the authorities of rural development department. They alleged embezzlement of funds of MGNREGA, BRGF, SDRF, 14FC and IAY schemes. They also alleged that many job card holders were yet to get a work under MGNREGA.
They appealed to chief minister Mehbooba Mufti, RDD minister and other concerned authorities to intervene in the matter and solve their problems. They also demanded a probe into the alleged bunglings in the implementation of these centrally sponsored schemes. |
