CEO, staff injured in stone pelting; vehicle damaged

Ramban, Dec 9: The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ramban, his driver and Section Officer had a narrow escape when their Ramban bound car (JK19-2764) was attacked by stone pelters at Yasu in Anantnag district today evening.
According to CEO, Mohd .Sharief Chauhan, the window panes of rear and left side of his car were broken in the incident. He said that while he, his Section Officer, Mohammed Ramzan and driver, Mubarak Ali while returning after attending a meeting with the Director School Education, Kashmir in his office at Maulat Road in Srinagar came under heavy stone pelting by some youth at Yasu falling between Bijbihara and Quazigund.
He had gone there to finalise the arrangement for the inauguration of Wadi Ki Sair train carrying students free from Banihal to Baramula by the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti at 8 am on December 11 at Banihal Railway Station.
However, the trio escaped with injuries and had reached Banihal when last reports came in. Yet according to him he didn't get any complaint registered with the police anywhere.
