Jammu, Dec 9: Cabinet Minister of present Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) government vindicated famous saying 'Ignorance is bliss' by asking young entrepreneurs to approach his Officer on Special Duty (OSD) and explain things to him, as he has no knowledge of the same.
According to highly placed sources, a group of young entrepreneurs had approached Cabinet Minister with a request to attend their ceremonial function.
"A group of young entrepreneurs had approached one of the Cabinet Ministers requesting him to be the chief guest on the function. The group also tried to explain their project to the Cabinet Minister," said sources, adding that when the minister failed to understand the project, he dodged the group, saying them to approach his OSD and explain same things to him, 'if he agrees, I will attend the function', the minister reportedly said.
"Before he could refer the group to his OSD, the cabinet minister was unable to speak to the group, which had floated simple student friendly project in Jammu and Kashmir," said sources, adding that the anxiety of the minister was so high that he gave prerogative powers to his OSD to decide on his behalf.
The sources further said that the minister was behaving like a student of elementary school.
"The behavior of the minister was childish. His approach makes it evident that he was ignorant about the project and was also not ready to accept it," said sources, adding that otherwise who says 'if OSD agrees, he will attend the function'.
When Early Times contacted the group of young entrepreneurs, they admitted that they had approached the concerned minister to be the chief guest on the function.
"Yes we did approach him to be the chief guest on the occasion, but he was confused and nervous," said one of the entrepreneurs, wishing anonymity, adding that instead of understanding the project, he directed them to OSD, with a note that 'if OSD gets convinced with the project, he will attend the same.'
The young entrepreneurs further mocked the wisdom of the minister and said "Such people are ruling us, who even do not understand simple project," adding "They instead of encouraging youth, express their helplessness in comprehending projects, which is unfortunate." |
