Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 9: Disillusioned over police investigation in a murder case, family members of the victim have alleged that a "powerful politician" is influencing investigation as culprits have not been booked till date.
Veena Devi wife of late, Daleep Kumar, who was allegedly murdered by his companions at Surinsar, alleged that from the very first day, when her husband was murdered, efforts are being put to hush-up the case. "One of my husband's friend, who was present at the murder spot enjoys a close relation with heavy weight politician, and efforts are being put to hush-up the case", she alleged.
"My husband, left home for Patnitop on 1st May, 2016, at 11am along with his friends, namely Chander, Tarsaim, Joiginder, Rinku and Ashok", she said, while narrating her woeful tale.
"Rinku came to our house late in the evening and told us that Daleep's leg got fractured due to an accident," she added.
"According, Rinku my father's leg got fractured when he was taking a selfie at a view point, at Chala Morh, along Jammu-Surinsar road", said Deepak son of late Daleep Kumar, who was allegedly murdered by his companions who were in an inebriated state.
"I left home at 7pm to rescue my father, who according to Rinku had fallen into deep gorge, and arrived at spot at 7:45 pm we found body at around 10 pm and informed the Police", he said and added, "Police never visited the spot nor summoned the people who killed my father.
"We are not being heard. Despite our repeated requests police are not doing anything", said Deepak.
We have several times met the top police officials demanding justice.
He alleged that to avoid any 'trouble' several relatives of my father's companions even opposed conducting post mortem of the body. "We had to struggle a lot get the postmortem of the body done," he said and added that there was mismatch between what Riknu told us and what postmortem revealed.
When contacted Station House Officer Jajjar Kotli, Ravinder Singh, said that investigations are going on and culprits would be behind the bars soon.
"Earlier, lie detector test was performed on suspects but we found nothing. Magistrate has granted permission to us to conduct Narco-test and it would be conducted soon in Gujarat", he added.
