Rajouri police recovers stolen property worth Rs 9.5 lakh, apprehend three burglars

Rajouri, Dec 9: Rajouri police have cracked the network of vehicles lifters and have recovered four stolen cars, four-motorcycles and four mobile phones from the possession of three burglars who were arrested during this week after a special drive was launched under the supervision of Mohd Suleman Choudhry, IPS, SSP.
Reliable sources said that the drive against the burglars, drug peddlers and bovine smugglers was launched after the mounting pressure from the people of the district after several incidents of these crimes were reported at various police stations especially at Rajouri police station.
The burglars arrested by the police have been identified as Mohf Altaf alias Taffi s/o Ghulam Qadir resident of Malik Market , Mohd Gaffor alias Gafora s/o Mohd Maqbool resident of Kheora ( both from Rajouri) and Mohd Rafiq alias Rafiqa s/o Alif Din r/o Nowshera .
Police have recovered 2-Alto cars bearing registration Nos.JK11-3048 and JK02N-7869 (stolen from Jammu) worth Rs 5 lacs for which the accused were booked in case FIR Nos.738 & 716/2016.
Two motor cycles bearing registration Nos.JK11A-9299 & JK11-3972 worth Rs 90,000 & booked in case FIR Nos.155 & 748/2016. Four mobile phones worth Rs20,000 against FIR No.755/2016 and all the cases were registered under section 379 RPC.
"The accused were evading the arrests for the last many months and were also booked in 5-7 cases of burglaries in the past also. It took more than seven days to apprehend the accused and to recover the stolen property which was dumped at various places by the accused for further sale" said Chaman Gorgha , SHO, Rajouri.
All the recoveries and arrests were made by the SHO and Mohd Fareed, in-charge Rajouri police post under the guidance of Hamid Choudhry, Deputy SP, HQ.
SHO further said besides claimed property, police have also recovered unclaimed property under section 550 CrPC from the possession of arrested accused which include 2 Alto cars bearing registration Nos. JK02AC-6711 & JK08-3100 (stolen from Jammu) worth Rs 2.5 lac and two motor cycles bearing chassis Nos. 52844 & 83832 & worth Rs 75,000.
