Govt hikes 200% Commission to Ration Dealers
Zulfkar terms it step towards bringing transparency by uplifting FPS owners

Jammu, Dec 9:Jammu & Kashmir government enhanced almost 200 % Commission to Fair Price Shop Dealers of Jammu & Kashmir which was overwhelmingly welcomed by All India Fair Price Shop Dealers Association whose representatives called upon Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali and thanked him for issuance of this order.
Department Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs issued Government Order Number 196 - FCSCA of 2016 enhancing commission of Fair Price Shop dealers of the state. Earlier Fair Price Shop dealers were getting 5% Commission per quintal which was approximately Rs 50 per quintal but now government has enhanced it almost 200 percent i.e Rs 143 per quintal.
Welcoming the order, All India Fair Price Shop Dealers Association, National Vice President and Incharge of J&K State Abdul Rahim Shah along with office bearers called upon Minister and congratulated him for issuing Government Order Number 196 / FCSCA of 2016 pertaining to payment of Rs 143 per quintal Commission charges to dealers. The Association lauded the role of Minister for taking this historic step towards welfare of dealers dealing foodgrains supplied in Jammu & Kashmir. The Dealers termed this order as historic and said that thousands of families of dealers were suffering a lot due to meagre commission of 5% percent.
On the occasion, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that the step was taken to bring total transparency in the system by providing sufficient commission to dealers. He said that meagre commission was encouraging pilferages in the state which was serious matter and it needs to be rectified. He said that government wants to provide better livelihood to dealers besides put a check on pilferages. ''We tried to do both these things with one government order'', he said adding that if government will provide proper commission to dealers; they will indulged themselves in black marketing. He said that he wants to bring transparency in the system and this step will help him to move ahead in the direction to achieve the goal.
Meanwhile Minister appealed dealers to come forward and help the Department to bring total transparency. He also warned dealers that if anybody will be found indulged in illegal practices, he /she will be taken to task.
The other members of All India Fair Price Shop Dealers Association viz Molvi Shokat, S. Nissar Sufi and Ghulam Mohammad Dar were also present on the occasion.
