Poonch, Dec 9: Alleging the non functioning of the Social Welfare Office (SWO) Mendhar, the locals said the office which often is found locked during office hours is compounding problems of the people especially to handicapped and old who walk to the office. According to reports, the Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Mendhar, Abdul Aziz has made the said office as his private office as he works at his own whims. "Whenever he likes he turns to office and they say As the king the couturiers are, the other employees of said office also stay away from the office leaving the needy people who come from far flung areas for their works in utterly stranded position as the office often remain closed on working days, sources said.
They said, "Specially disabled people, widows, oldage and others who visit the office for their routine works had to return helplessly as often they find office closed during the office hours." Sources said, "Tehsil Social Welfare Officer and his subordinates only remain present in the office only when they have reports of their higher ups visiting to visit office."
When contacted Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Thakur Sher Singh said that the matter will be looked into and assured if complaints found genuine appropriate action will be initiated against erring officials. |
