Complaint filed against advocate, Police delays FIR

Kishtwar Dec 9: Even after the lapse of several hours, Kishtwar Police has yet to register an FIR against the local advocate and his associate for abusing an Engineering student from Hidyal village of Kishtwar.
The complainant Mohit Krishan Parihar son of Late Kewal Krishan Parihar Resident of Hidyal Kishtwar approached the police Station Kishtwar with an application for registration of F.I.R against Rahul Bhandari S/O Subhash Bhandari and Advocate Suman Pratap Bhandari S/O Madan Lal Bhandari Resident of Ward No. 5 Municipal Committee Kishtwar, a serving advocate in Kishtwar Court who also held an important post in Bar Association Kishtwar .The complainant submitted that on 7/12/2016 at about 4:30 PM the above named accused all of sudden appeared in front of complainant when he was on way to his home and after wrongfully restraining complainant started abusing and threatening him.
The complainant alleged that he raised hue and cry as the accused were holding sharped edged weapons in their hands following which some people appeared on the scene and the accused fled from spot but snatched his wrist watch and threatened to kill the complainant.
He further stated that earlier also on 24/11/2016 at around 10:30, the accused had attacked the complainant when he was on way to Hospital along With his family members including women in his personal vehicle He added that the accused are bent upon to harm the complainant , but even after the lapse of several hours, no FIR was register against them.
When contacted the complainant said that police were deliberately delaying the registration of an FIR as the accused belonged to a political family. He said that accused Advocate also threatened him to use his judicial and Police influence to teach him a lesson by implicating him in false case as well as defame him by circulating his name in social media.
He said that in case Police did not register FIR against the accused persons, he will move to court for seeking justice. He said that he will also lodge a complaint against the erring advocate with Chief Justice of J&K High Court as well as before the Bar Association.
