Kathua, Dec 9: The Excise Department Jammu has tightened its noose on violators of the various provisions of the J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu division.
Under the active supervision of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Mohammed Shahid Saleem, the Excise Team led by Ritesh Gupta, Inspector Excise under the command of Excise and Taxation Officers, City Excise Range South Nayeem-ur-Rehman Mughal and Suresh Sharma Eradication Wing Conducted a series of excise raids at villages Deoli, Makhanpur, Salehar, Dablehar,Tarachak, Haslachak, Devigarh and Nikowal of tehsil R.S. Pura and Bishnah.
During course of raids two persons namely Darshan Lal S/o Sardari Lal caste sansi R/o Kotli charkan and Bahadur Singh S/o Sain Dass caste Jatt R/o Nikowal were arrested and booked under sec 48 of J&K Excise Act. Four bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from their possession. Besides this about 400 kgs of lahan and five bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the state land and destroyed on spot
Meanwhile Excise Team Samba led by Sushil Kumar Inspector Excise under the command of Excise and Taxation Officer, Excise Range Samba Virender Singh Billawaria conducted raids at Ramghar, Radhwa, Nandpur and adjoining areas of Vijaypur where 50 kg Lahan and 6 bottles of illicit liquor recovered from state land and destroyed on spot. |
