Missing files of J&KeGA wiped out' much before Durbar Move…? | Two bureaucrats protected erring officials during NC-Cong rule | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 17: First time in the history of Durbar Move as many as 56 files have gone missing from the trunks allegedly during transportation for which J&KeGA has lodged FIR with Police. Registering of FIR is being seen as mere formality as there is more to the theory of theft or negligence in the matter and authentic information pointing towards a 'well crafted' move that led to disappearance of the files of this Agency. Sources said these files did not disappear from the trunks due to any displaced position or negligence on part of those involved in shifting of the official material. Such work is something normal and as a matter of routine for the employees associated with Durbar Move, said the source adding that rarely have any files gone missing during the biannual phenomenon even as the material is huge in quantity. Sources indicated even though the concerned department as a matter of just formality have lodged FIR, the fact remains these have been purportedly pushed into disappearance as these contained certain information that would have opened up a pandora's box for many wrongs done by the people at helm of this department during previous NC-Congress regime. Many irregularities were committed by the people who were engaged on contract basis with the agency in the projects so taken up during the last few years, most of them having been financed by the Union ministry. Sources further said instead of looking into the irregularities rampant in the J&KeGA with active collaboration of officials at levels engaged with the Agency, a couple of senior bureaucrats gave shelter, rather protected them well despite knowing about their malpractices and the mess so created in handling various projects so vital to the functioning of e-governance in the state. None of these projects were completed in time nor did they keep up their own routine work including RTI files which were seldom uploaded all these files. The website shows this having stopped working after year 2011, sources said. Sources further said of the two bureaucrats who shut their eyes while being at the helm of affairs in the IT department one has retired, the other one who stands transferred to other department now, went a step ahead in adjusting one of the blue eyed employees permanently elsewhere, all those having been engaged with J&KeGA on contract basis. Sources said as the new alliance government started looking into the working of the Agency, while some employees resigned on their own, contract of few others was cancelled by the present government. However, in order to conceal the acts of omissions and commissions committed all these years, the files which would have revealed important information upon a thorough probe were craftily 'wiped out' from the records much before Durbar Move, sources said and the matter was craftily showed as coinciding with Durbar Move negligence, sources added. |
