| Gujjar leader urges CM Mufti to pass bill for promotions to SC/ST/OBCs | | | Early Times Report
Poonch Dec 17: Shamsher Hakla Poonchi prominent Gujjar leader and intellectual of J&K today urged Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to pass a bill in the coming session of J&K legislative assembly for continuing reservation in promotion for the J&K Govt employees belonging to ST/SC and Other Backward Communities.
In a press statement issued here today, Hakla said that in every sphere of life reservation in the need of the hour and is a necessary for the people belonging to ST, SC and OBC categories.
" In order to keep them (ST, SC, and OBC employees) at par with people belonging to upper castes, their reservation in promotion is an essential requirement" he added.
Hakla said it would be appropriate to mention here that all the efforts made by Govt. of India for the development and welfare of Gujjar and Bakarwal community of J&K State have been deliberately obstructed by the state governments in past decades.
