| 'Cabinet to decide about new Srinagar GMC principal' | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 17: A high court division bench of Justice M H Attar and Justice A M Magrey today closed a contempt petition after it was told that the state cabinet would take a call on the appointment of a 'suitable candidate' for the post of Srinagar GMC principal.
Dr Javed Chowdhry had made claim for the post of Srinagar GMC principal and the high court directions followed information given by the state counsel that Health and Medical Education Department had set up a selection committee. The committee had recommended the name of a suitable candidate for the post of Srinagar GMC principal vide an order GAD(Ser)Genl/70/2006 on December 13, 2016, theAAG said and added that the recommendation was being sent for approval to the state cabinet in the shape of memo. "In view of the aforesaid situation, this contempt petition will not proceed further and is accordingly disposed of," the bench said while closing the proceeding of contempt petition.
