| The sacking of Dr. Haseeb A. Drabu from the State Cabinet by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is not an ordinary issue . It conveys everything. He, who speaks the truth , looses his ground to stand on . His briefings before the top businessmen , Corporate and Industrialists at the Business Conclave held at New Delhi a fortnight ago were not presented by the print and electronic media in the right perspective. . Regarding his statement, the main bone of contention was that as to why Dr . Haseeb Drabu spoke that Kashmir is a social issue but not a political one . Here in this happening, there is a need to read and analyze his statement with reference to the context in the real sense. Leaving all her Cabinet Ministers aside, the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti wants to establish her 'Autocratic Rule' in the state at the behest of the PM Narender Modi. She gave the hint in sacking Dr . Haseeb A. Drabu from the Finance Ministry.
At the same time , she has adopted the policy of pleasing the surrendering militants at the cost of the nation . Dr, Drabu was on the right side as he was interested to see the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir. He wanted to see the real future of the youth of the state( both skilled and non skilled).His all out efforts and Endeavour was to put the youth of the state on the strong footings as also for the promotion of the Industrial business and trade . He was concentrating on all these activities seriously as he saw the real stage provided to him by the PHDICC, New Delhi. Making the captioned statement ,he has not committed any sin in speaking that Kashmir is a social issue instead of political one but rather was becoming instrumental in carrying the state forward. But the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is altogether a different personality as she is a big sympathizer of pro-Pak elements and the H urriyat group. By sacking him from the State Cabinet , she has not done a good thing but rather she has made the huge loss to the state in loosing the services of a very competent economist who was looking after the finances of the sensitive state as the Finance Minister in her cabinet since 2016.
Pertinent to mention here that Dr., Drabu brought many reforms in the Finance Ministry of the state. He was picking up the threads scattered hither and thither and was making the continuous chain of the same so as to enable him to run the financial affairs of his ministry in a scientific, effective and systematic way. Since he was a methodical man, he adopted the schematic approach in devising the various strategies for the economic development of the state instead of a sporadic approach which was adopted by his predecessors in the past. To the great extent, he remained successful in achieving the desired results thereby adopting the schematic approach. The Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti's action in sacking Dr. Drabu will go detrimental to interests of of the people of the state .
There is a great need of a person like Dr. Drabu to set the financial matters right as earlier there was a financial mess in the state . Since the financial systems were not in order and earlier maximum funds received from the Central Government on account of various projects and under Centrally sponsored schemes were going as unutilized detrimental to the economic interests of the state . Since there was no proper system of releasing the funds under the Capital component at the disposal of the Competent authority to spend as a result of which in the past maximum funds were being misused / misappropriated without observing the codal formalities . Dr. Drabu is a straight forward personality and have full faith in the Parliamentary Democracy of the country . Reputed economists of the country respect his competence and caliber.
His ousting from the Cabinet by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti opened the Pandora box. A very important question cropped up with this development that other prominent figures of PDP including Mehbooba Mufti are not rightful thinkers as Indians or otherwise their thinking's are otherwise which is a matter of serious concern of every citizen of the country as also under the prevailing conditions of the valley where almost daily encounters between the militants and the security forces of the country are going on everyday resulting which innocents are being killed in the name of Azadi without any fault of theirs . This is a sorry state of affairs that anybody who breaths for the country therein the valley is an enemy for them . Thing are moving so badly that Kashmir problem already grave and is going totally out of control of the Union Government . Nobody should expect anything positive from the State Government . I apprehend that Mehbooba will bring Kashmir to the disastrous end if she is not checked and controlled strictly at the earliest .
Done is done, it cannot be undone . Mehbooba Mufti took the decision of ousting Dr. Haseeb A. Drabu vey hastily and at the moment she must be repenting but it is of no use . Since Dr. Drabu an experienced economist of a well repute, the functionaries of the State Government must be feeling upset over his ousting frpm the Cabinet . I have number of friends in PDP who are expressing their anguish and reservations about him and still they are hopeful that chances of his return into the ministry once again as Mehbooba Mufti was seen discussing on this score with her close confidant two days back. Now she is thinking afresh for opting Drabu into her cabinet very soon. Before sacking Dr. Drabu, it was noticed from the media that all was not well in PDP as various inputs were coming in that some murmurings were going on against her leadership. Smelling the same she wanted to set the things right under her nose . Before any big damage could be done (which she was suspecting from within ) she crucified Dr. Drabu and snatched his ministry within no time . There is every likelihood of cropping up of a big problem for her survival in the days to come . Political circles are of the opinion that she will be in danger for survival . Insiders feel that sacking of Drabu is the result of a tug of war between the Pro- India and Pro-Pak sympathizers in PDP which is going on since long within PDP. Earlier it was below the soil but now it has come on the fore front .
His sacking has given a serious set back to the PDP and BJP alliance . This is just an excuse put forth by the Chief Minister of the state Mehbooba Mufti that He ( Dr. Drabu ) has made a controversial statement at New Delhi while addressing a gathering of the organization of the Business Community i.e. PHDCCI. His controversial remarks are quoted here as under :-
"For, Kashmir is not just a political problem but a social issue. Our society has been ravaged and we need to address first. It is in this we seek your help." A conclusive inference can be drawn from the fact that Mehbooba Mufti must be feeling uneasy with the sacked Finance Minister Dr. Haseeb A.Drabu these days. It is very strange that he was asked to give the clarifications about the happening but without getting the appropriate reply from him, he was sacked unceremoniously. This not a good omen indeed. Taking the drastic action in dropping him from the State Cabinet by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti can be suicidal for the PDP which has already lost its credibility in the general masses of the valley. Pertinent to mention here that some sort of infighting is there in PDP already.Very recently, I had written in one of mine article that all is not well in Coalition Government. Sacking of Dr. Drabu has proved it. At the same time , it is expected that one of his close confidant and a Parliamentarian may also either dropped or may quit from PDP very soon. |
