Outgoing VC loves to spend money, holds interviews in a hotel | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 27: The outgoing Vice Chancellor of the Jammu University allegedly caused loss to the exchequer by choosing a private hotel for conducting interviews for various posts here on Tuesday. Sources said that the Vice Chancellor had sought special permission from Raj Bhavan for conducting interviews for the post of professor in the department of Mathematics, professor in the department of Life long Learning and one post of Associate Professor in the Department of Economics. "As the atmosphere in the Jammu University was disturbing, the VC chose a private hotel (Hotel Fortune Inn Riviera) for conducting interviews of the above said posts", said sources adding that VC had so many options including Central University Jammu, Government Colleges, PSC Hall, Government Guest Houses etc. If sources are to be believed post of one professor in one department was already under scanner as one of the applicant has forged the APR score. Pertinent to mention here that in January this year, government had informed the JU authorities that in context of the tenure of VC shortly coming to an end, "no decision in regard to any policy matter or relating to selections/appointments to various senior vacant posts (teaching/non-teaching) should be taken without seeking the prior written approval from the office of the Chancellor", sources said adding that owing to which special permission was sought to conduct interviews for the above said posts. |
