Jammu, Mar 27: 3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Haq Nawaz Zargar today awarded 10 years RI to Amir Sheikh, S/o Mushtaq Ahmed, R/o Udharana, Tehsil Bhaderwah, District Doda in rape case.
According to the prosecution story, on 14.6.2014 the victim (name withheld) filed a written report stating that the victim belongs to Bhaderwah and is doing P.G.D.H.E from IGNOU Canal Road Jammu. On 7.6.2014, she had gone to Bhaderwah to meet her parents and in Bhaderwah Bazaar she met one Shoab, resident of Udrna Bhaderwah. On 13.6.2014 she was in her house at about 8:30 in evening, Shaob came to her house and pushed the victim on the bed, gagged her mouth with hand and committed rape with her, further threatened her not to disclose it to anyone or to police.
3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Haq Nawaz Zargar after hearing Surekha Bhat (Kaw), APP for the State whereas Adv AK Shan for the accused observed that such offenders who are menace to the civilized society should be mercilessly and inexorably punished in the severest terms. With these observations Court awarded 10 years rigorous impriosnment and fine Rs 30000/-. |
