Srinagar, May 29: A special police officer (SPO) was critically injured after he was shot at by suspected militants in Puchal village of south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Tuesday.
As per reports the gunmen fired upon the SPO, Aqib Wagay son of Abdul Ahad Wagay, a resident of Panzgam Awantipora, leaving him critically injured.
He was shifted to a nearby district hospital where from he was referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment.
"Wagay was shot at by the suspected militants. He was working as an SPO in Awantipora," said SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam Choudhary.
Meanwhile, Army, Special Operation Group of Police and CRPF cordoned off the area and launched a hunt to nab the attackers. |
