If Sama Shabir is role model, what was Burhan, Eisa Fazili? Kashmir asks Geelani
5/30/2018 10:57:55 AM

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 29: Even as Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani has termed Sama Shabir daughter of jailed separatist leader Shabir Shah a "role model" for student generation of Kashmir, the people are asking what about children of people other than separatists, who have picked up guns.
On May 28, Geelani "saluted the courage and steadfastness of Sama Shabir who against all odds and his father's absence topped the state in CBSE class 12 results."
"Geelani nominated a high-level delegation comprising Hakim Ab Rashid, Syed M Shafi and Syed Imtiaz to felicitate Sama," said a statement released by Hurriyat (G).
"Syed Ali Geelani unable to forward his felicitations in person because of undeclared incarceration at his jail-turned-residence congratulated this young daughter of subjugated nation on telephone," the statement added.
But if Geelani finds role model in Sama, what about the Kashmir youth like Burhan Muzaffar Wani and Er Eisa Fazili, who had picked up guns and Geelani used to salute them also.
Does Geelani want to convey that children of separatist leaders should excel in studies and get adjusted in government jobs through backdoor whereas children of others should be pushed to death?
Geelani, who has often glamorized killing of Kashmiri youth has always wanted his own family be safe and excel in life.
During the 2016 unrest, when Geelani pushed the youth of Kashmir to streets to protest killing of Hizbul commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani, his own grandson Anees Ul Islam got a government job through backdoor at the SKICC.
Interestingly, on a day when Geelani had asked the youth of Kashmir to assemble at Jamia Masjid Nowhatta for anti-India protests, Anees Ul Islam secretly went to face interview at SKICC.
He was subsequently given a "princely job" by the Bharatiya Janta Party -Peoples Democratic Party alliance at the SKICC and has been working there since.
Despite massive public outrage over what kind of policy the Hurriyat leaders were playing with the people of Kashmir, Geelani has been silent over the backdoor recruitment of his grandson.
While the controversy surrounding the recruitment of Anees Ul Islam, is yet to end, Geelani has hailed daughter of Shabir Shah for securing first position from the state in the recently declared results for CBSE class 12.
"Their own children should excel in studies and children of common Kashmiri should pick up guns and die for Pakistan, that is the kind of policy the separatists have," said a senior official in Education department.
