Acute power crisis in Jammu region | Minister's order ignored | | Ashwani Sharma Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, May 29: The recent order by the PDD Minister directing the department to defer all the power shutdowns in Jammu region as the temperature here has crossed 40 degree has been ignored as the entire region seeks respite from scorching heat. Barring a few areas almost all parts of Jammu region are experiencing heat wave and there are power curtailments add to the woes of the people. "There is no power in my village since morning and their plight can only be imagined," Rajnii of village Mongri told ET. Similar complaints have also poured in from some urban areas of Udhampur town too. Meanwhile, sources informed that districts Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar, Reasi, Poonch, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Jammu etc too are facing this problem. He informed that even for the whole day and night together the power supply may be snapped by the concerned authorities without any reason. "It seems that the government wants to kill us without water and power," Banso Devi an elderly lady of R.S Pura said. She further said that during election season we were promised heavens but our life became worse than hell afterwards
