No FIR was registered against Akbar Lone for abusing late Ansari, raising pro-Pak slogans in the House | "One needs to ask the J&K Police why it doesn't act so promptly when a common man is abused on the social media and social networking groups? Why are policemen biased in their approach?" | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have intensified the manhunt to trace Rajinder Singh, brother of the former minister Choudhary Lal Singh, in connection with the case registered against him for using derogatory language against the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. Police have even issued a lookout notice against him and the notice has been given the wide publicity. Everyone is of the opinion that Singh should not have used the filthy language against the Chief Minister. An analyst while talking to Early Times said that in 2011 when senior National Conference leader Akbar Lone was the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly he had abused the senior PDP leader late Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari. The Speaker of the Assembly losing his cool and abusing a senior leader had shocked the entire state. "Everyone at that point of time had demanded that FIR should be registered against Lone but the matter was pushed under the carpet," he said. "The PDP did not push the matter despite it being in the Opposition at that point of time." Recalling the recent incident related to Akbar Lone, who is also the National Conference MLA, the analyst said that when terrorists attacked the Military Station at Sunjwa in Jammu city in February this year Lone again stirred the Hornet's nest and raised pro-Pakistan slogans in the House. After raising the pro-Pakistan slogans Lone had said that he was "provoked" to raise the slogans after BJP MLAs started raising anti-Pakistan slogans in the assembly. "Yes, I said it. It is my personal view, I said it in the house and I don't think anyone should have a problem with it," Lone had said. Despite the NC leader crossing the line nothing much was done to ensure that law takes its own course. "Both NC and PDP are Kashmir centric parties and it has been observed that they don't push matters beyond a point," the analyst added. He said, "If anyone abuses a common man on What's Up groups or any other social networking sites Police even don't take the cognizance, registering an FIR is out of question. If anyone approaches Police with a complaint about him being abused in the public forum policemen conveniently say it's no case. They just ignore it. What an irony!" he added. It may be recalled that police have raided several places in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and other areas to arrest Rajinder Singh. Five police teams led by sub-inspector and deputy superintendent-level officers have carried out the raids to locate Singh. "One needs to ask the J&K Police why it doesn't act so promptly when a common man is abused on the social media and social networking groups? Why are policemen biased in their approach?" Xxxxxxxxxxxxx Kathua Case: BJP playing double-game to hoodwink people of Jammu Early Times Report Jammu, May 29: Is BJP playing a double-game to mislead and hoodwink the people of Jammu province, particularly people of Kathua, who have been demanding CBI probe into the alleged Kathua rape and murder case since January? If what the newly-elected president of J&K BJP Ravinder Raina reportedly said from Delhi on Monday about the whole Kathua case is to be believed, then the answer has to be in the affirmative. Ravinder Raina said that he and former minister in the PDP-BJP coalition government Choudhary Lal Singh met BJP national president Amit Shah at New Delhi and discussed the whole Kathua case and the prevailing situation in the state as well as working of the BJP ministers in the coalition government. Quoting Amit Shah, Raina said that "Amit Shah gave Lal Singh a clean chit saying there was nothing wrong in demanding CBI probe into the Kathua case". The question is: If there was nothing wrong in demanding CBI probe into the much-publicized Kathua case, then why were Lal Singh and CP Ganga, another BJP leader and minister, were forced to resign? Another question is: If BJP national president Amit Shah has given a clean chit to Lal Singh, will the latter be re-inducted in the council of ministers? Clean chit to Lal Singh and his no-re-induction in the government can't go hand-in-hand. The BJP has to make its position clear. It can't give a clean chit to Lal Singh and allow him to organize rallies in different parts of Jammu province in support of his demand seeking CBI probe into the Kathua case. Lal Singh has been holding meetings and rallies at different places after he was made to tender resignation from the ministry. He is attacking the state government and saying let the government falls. In fact, he is playing the role of opposition and raking up Dogra identity issue to garner people's support in favour of CBI probe. The BJP is in power at the Centre and is part of the government in J&K as well. It can order CBI probe in no time. All cards are in its own hand. If it doesn't order CBI probe and continue to allow the former minister to do what he has been doing for more than 30 days now, then it would be concluded that the BJP is playing a double-role to keep the PDP in good humour and tell the people of Jammu that its leader and former minister is taking up their cause and case. This type of politics can't do anymore or click anymore in Jammu. |
