KVK organises training programme | | | Early Times Report
Reasi, May 29: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu(SKUAST-J) organised one day farmers training programme on "Entrepreneurship development in organic vegetables growing" here today at village Kansi Patta of Pouni block in Reasi district of J&K which was attended by many progressive farmers of the area. The programme was organised under the guidance of Associate Director Extension and Incharge KVKs of SKUAST-J, Dr.RK Arora. Dr. Banarsi Lal, Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi started the programme with the warm welcome of the farmers. In the introductory session Dr.Banarsi explained the scientific organic vegetables growing and urged the farmers for the commercial organic vegetable by which they can generate more income and employment in the area. He guided the farmers about the critical inputs used in the organic farming and highlighted the use of biofertilisers, green manuring, neem cake and vermicompost in organic vegetables growing. While interacting with the farmers he said that the hilly areas have immense potential for organic vegetables growing and farmers can enhance their income by growing the organic vegetables. He said the farmers that by the indiscriminate use of agro-chemicals in the vegetables, the soil health as well as humans' health are being badly affected. He educated the farmers that the excessive use of agro-chemicals in the vegetables causes lot of ailments to the human beings. |
