JKPCC asks Govt to accede SSA Teachers' demands
9/15/2018 8:57:13 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 15: Extending full support to the cause of agitating SSA teachers, JKPCC asked the government to immediately accede to their genuine demands keeping in view the interests of students' community.
In a statement Chief Spokesperson of JKPCC, Ravinder Sharma expressed serious concern over the delay on the part of the government to resolve the genuine issues and demands of SSA/Ret teachers as a result 41,000 teachers are on the streets for the past several months, and on the other hands lacs of students are mainly suffering for studies. The demands of agitating teachers are quite justified as they seek parity with regard to 7th pay commission and delinking of their salary from central HRD ministry, for timely and regular disbursement to them.
He said that RET teachers should not be discriminated after completion of their prescribed period of 5 years for regularization. Once regularized, they should be treated like general line teachers in all respects but they continue to suffer on account of salary transfers and other benefits available to general line teachers. Senior congress leaders thanked AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi for appreciating the issues of agitating teachers and supporting their cause.
The congress party is fully behind these teachers as well other agitating sections of employees like Anganwadi workers, helper, FMHWS as well daily wagers, casual need based and other category of workers in PHE, Irrigation, Flood Control and other departments seeking fulfillment of commitments with them from time to time.
