Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 15 : Judged by the killing of three Lashkar-i-Toiba and two Jaish-e-Mohammad militants in two separate incidents indicates that Lashkar and JeM continue to be active in the Kashmir valley. And these militants, belonging to these outfits, try to carve out hideouts in some regions of Jammu, including Kishtwar,Doda besides Rajouri and Poonch..Already the security forces have launched massive counter insurgency operations in which a few dozen militants have been killed in recent days.
And what about the rate of infiltration it continues unabated and in recent days more than 10 infiltrators were killed including three from Pakistan. And in the context the border fencing on the 187 km long International Border from Kathua to Akhnoor is being rebuilt so that there is no porous portion which can be utilised by the infiltrators.
Politicians and bureaucrats in India had pinned hope on Imran Khan, the new Prime Minister of Pakistan, that he may be able to create conditions in which India-Pakistan ties become normal. But the way he has started his innings it means he will have to obey the directions of the Pak Army senior functionaries and the ISI.The way he visited the ISI headquarters and stated that the ISI is "our second defence line."is indicative of the mind of Imran Khan.
Navjot Sidhu former cricketer and Minister in Punjab, who had been invited by Imran Khan to attend his (Imran Khan's) oath ceremony was robust when he said that ties between India and Pakistan could get imrpoved under Imran Khan's rule. But like all other Indian politicians and Bureaucrats Sidhu also went wrong in his assessment of his old friend in cricket days. But Imran is helpless creature.
He cannot go against the Army and the ISI.
That is the reason that he did not prepare the Government case for motivating the court to declare JuD as a terrorist organisation and deserved to be banned.
Many things and many developmen ts take place in Pakistan and all these events seem to be inimical to India and India's interests.Had Imran Khan mounted his pressu re China could have not vetoed India's entry into NSG club. But as Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan adopted reticence whenever some international development took place which weakened India further.Imran has to carve out a niche in the minds of people of Pakistan and especially the Pak Army functionar ies. That can be possible if he adoptes anti-India gestures. This way India need not expect any softening of stand of Pakistan towards India. Possibilities seem to be bright when the two sides get entangled in some breezy war.
