Jammu, Sept 14: A 'tainted' Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), who was posted in Jammu district and was recently transferred to Kashmir has joined his new place of posting after he allegedly paid huge amount to someone in New Delhi few days ago.
If sources are to be believed, the officer was recently transferred from a prime posting he was holding, where allegation of being in league with land grabbers was levelled against him and he was transferred from the post of Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) in Jammu district to a lesser important post.
Few days ago he was again transferred to Kashmir and before joining the new place of posting he visited New Delhi in his own car "with cash and requested for modification of his order," said a source.
Sources further said that he was given assurance for modification of the transfer but only after he joined the new place of posting.
It is pertinent to mention here that the officer in question always remained in limelight for his anti-social activities and has also accumulated huge wealth. "Few years ago, when the said officer was posted as SHO of a police station along the National Highway, he developed acquaintances with an infamous land grabber of the area with whom the said officer amassed huge properties", said a source in the police department. |
