3 accused convicted in Billawar bank theft case, sentenced 3 yrs imprisonment

Kathua, Sept 15: JMIC Billawar today convicted three accused of Parnalla Billawar bank theft case and all the accused were sentenced with three years imprisonment and fine of Rs 3000 to each accused and further in default of payment , the imprisonment of each accused will extend for three more months.
Incident reportedly took place in the intervening night of 28/29-11-2012 in Grameen Bank Branch at Parnalla Billawar in which accused have been identified as Mohammad Anjum resident of Pallan Billa war, Mohammad Rafi resident of Manger Billawar and Saleem Ahmed alias Liayqat Ali resident of Parnalla Billawar committed theft in the bank.
On the written report of Bank, police station Billawar Kathua lodged FIR no 146/2012 u/s 457/380/34 RPC and during investigation police arrested all the accused and final report was then submitted to Hon'ble JMIC Billawar.
During trial, Sh Asif Iqbal Prosecuting officer Billawar succeeded in proving theft case beyond all reasonable doubts and accordingly all the accused were proved guilty and convicted for the commision of offence u/s 457/380/34 RPC.
Keeping in view the sensitivity of the case as economic offences against society at large and conduct of the accused persons , they are not entitled to benefits of Probation of Offenders Act. Accordingly all the accused were sentenced with three year simple imprisonment with Rs 3000 fine to each accused.
