Victims still waiting for compensation

Udhampur, Sept 25 : Dev Raj, a poor resident of Ghorla village in block Ghordi of District Udhampur is waiting for the compensation from PMGSY department after his house was damaged in the work undertaken by the said department in 2017.
Mantoo Devi victim while talking to Early Times said that the family didn't get single penny for the damages to their house .
"We live in miserable condition; spend nights in neighbourhood as we have no resources to construct.
Our house was damage due to road work after that heavy rainfall destroyed it completely , we are in deep stress as of now no one came here to see our condition" she rued.
Ishwar Dass neighbour of the victim while Talking to Early times said that the house of the victims was damage as no retaining wall was raised to protect the damage. "The victim family is very poor and it is the duty of the department concerned to compensate him" he added.
Ravinder Kumar, (IAS) Commissioner Udhampur said that he got the detailed report about the loss of house of Dev Raj and assured that efforts were on to compensate the victim.
