Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 25: Under the nationwide sanitation campaign 'Swachhata Hi Sewa', cleanliness drive was today organized at Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu in the college campus with a purpose to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefits.
The drive was kick started by Er Arun Bangotra Principal of the college who exhorted upon the students to make the environment neat, clean and pollution free to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi vision of Clean India as Cleanliness is not the responsibility of only sanitation personnel and government departments; it is a multi-stakeholder national movement. This campaign would largely help in ensuring good and clean living, protecting the working environment and help in reducing the incidence of diseases.
The drive gave an opportunity to the students and the faculty to join hands together in creating the campus neat and clean. All the staff and students took Swachhta pledge at the start of the event to keep the surroundings clean and to preserve the environment and took the oath not to use polythene.
Later Principal himself along with Er Inderjeet Singh, Workshop Supdt, Er K.S Bhatia, HOD Mechanical, Er Sukhdeep Singh, HOD Civil, Er Zia-ul Haq, HOD Computer, Ar Ritika Wadhera, HOD Architecture, Mr Amit Sharma, HOD Travel and Tourism along with other faculty members took the brooms in their hands and started the cleanliness drive which was followed by students with great zeal. The program was organised by N.S.S team of the college under guidance of co-ordinator Er. Ajay Thappa and Er Sanam Gupta.
