| RDD toilet at Panchari craves for water, maintenance | | |  Ashwani Sharma

Udhampur, Oct 3: The toilets constructed by rural development department (RDD) in Panchari are dysfunctional for want of water supply and proper maintenance.
Sources informed that no sweeper has been engaged for cleaning these toilets made for public benefit by spending lakhs of rupees from the government exchequer.
The toilet is located at an important place and near a hospital. Hundreds of persons use it but foul smell greets them and they have to return disappointed.
The municipal authorities say the RDD has to maintain the toilet.
"This toilet mocks at Prime Minister's cleanliness movement," Balbir-a resident of Panchari said adding that the authorities should pay some heed towards the maintenance of this vital public infrastructure. |
