Jammu, Oct 3: During the fifteen days campaign which commenced on September 15 to October 2, a plethora of activities were organized in order to sensitize the students as well as natives of the vicinity with the indispensable need of cleanliness by APS Kalu Chak.
A mass Awareness Rally was carried out and the students fostered the notion of "Cleanliness is next to godliness" among others inspiring them to keep their surroundings neat and unsoiled.
The rally of students holding banners and placards with informative messages was flagged off by Hem Lata Vishen, Principal APS Kaluchak.
A Cleanliness drive was organized under the able guidance of NCC ANOs i.e. eepak Walia and Anamika Jamwal in order to inculcate among the students a feeling that they are equal partners in the creation of a cleaner, greener and healthier India.
Icing on the cake was a talk by the students which motivated the students to lent an enthusiastic hand in the drive and vowed to ensure the cleanliness of the school. Students cleaned the vicinity of the unkempt reservoir as well as the streets and back alleys in its espoused village Birpur ,hence stirring the natives to rededicate their efforts for achieving a Swachh Bharat and thereby intensifying the Campaign.
Cleanliness of Public Park at Gangyal was also undertaken by the NCC Cadets. The cadets stressed upon the residents of areas to make cleanliness a regular habit besides rendering their valuable services to make the cleanliness drive a great success on the ground.
A street play on the theme 'Segregation of waste' and 'Say no to drugs' proved to be an eye opener for the inhabitants of Birpur Village.
The entire Campaign was carried out with lot of vivaciousness and the first step towards accomplishing the above mentioned endeavour proved to be a triumph.
