KATRA, Oct 3: Winning team of Inter Collegiate Football (Men) Tournament of GDC Kathua was felicitated in the college by Principal, Sports Board Committee and Senior Faculty of the College.
Principal of the College, Prof. Kartar Chand, congratulated the Football team of the college for lifting the Inter Collegiate Championships organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu. He also appreciated the efforts of the Dr. Balbinder Singh, Physical Director, and Prof Ajay Sharma, Team In-charge of GDC Kathua for providing all the facilities to the players and working hard in preparing such a matchless team.
In the high profile final, Govt. Degree College Kathua defeated SPMR Colllege of Commerce in tie breaker by 3-2. GDC Kathua reached in the finals by defeating PG Law and Science, University of Jammu by 3-2 in the in the semi final . The tournament was held in Jammu University with effect from 24th of September, 2018 to 01st October , 2018.
Earlier, players of the winning team were given a rousing reception in the college by students and staff of the college.
