DDC Rajouri inspects major ongoing development works | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, July 31: District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today inspected major developmental works to review the physical progress on these projects being executed in the border district. The DDC inspected the progress of work at Sport Stadium Kheora, double lane Abdulah Bridge, Circular Road, Hamilton Bridge, Irwin Khetar Bridge, Old Bus Stand Rajouri, Maternity and Child Health Care Centre Institution, GNM College and Model Boys Higher Secondary School Rajouri. The projects reviewed hold significance for strengthening infrastructure in education, tourism and road sectors besides providing enhanced medical facilities to the local populace. During his inspection of various projects, he directed the concerned officers to speed up works and strictly adhere to the specifications and deadlines in construction of the projects. He laid special emphasis on ensuring the quality of work. While visiting Sports Complex, Executive Engineer PWD informed the DDC that works on indoor and outdoor stadium will be completed by October this year. DDC fixed a deadline of 20 days for completion of Pavilion of the stadium. DDC also visited the Mother and Child Hospital being constructed by JK Housing Board at an estimated cost of Rs 1.25 crore. He was informed that on completion of the building, Gynaecology and pediatrics wards would be shifted here from District Hospital. DDC also inspected the construction of skill development center for specially- abled persons. He was informed that work on the building is almost complete. He directed the concerned to move the furniture, computers and other material at the earliest. While taking stock of progress on Circular Road, DDC directed the executing agency to speed up works so that this alternate link can be established and the traffic congestion at Mandi and Kheora could be reduced. During his visit to Old Bus Stand, DDC took stock of ongoing works. He was informed that work on drain has been completed and blacktopping works will be started after monsoons. DDC also inspected the progress of work on Hamilton Bridge and Irwin Khetar Bridge. He directed the respective executing agencies to complete the remaining work on bridge, so that the inconvenience of the general public can be mitigated. While inspecting works for construction of double lane Abdullah Bridge the DDC was informed that the work for this Rs. 4.78 crore project has been allotted to the contractor and the work will be started soon. |
