Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 16: V. K. Singh, IPS, DGP Prisons, J&K visited Central Jail Naini, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh where 16 detenues from J&K are lodged. He interacted with them to inquire of their health, etc. Superintendent Naini Jail- H. B. Singh, Medical Officer and other staff were present during the visit. 14 out of the 16 detenues were having no health related issues and two were under treatment for some minor health issues. V. K. Singh was informed that the detenues are regularly having mulakat with their relatives and regular health check-ups are conducted. In case(s) of health issues; the detenues are provided proper medication under supervision of Doctors. At present 198 detenues from J&K are lodged in six jails of Uttar Pradesh. V. K. Singh appreciated the efforts of UP jail authorities to enable mulakat & for providing proper health care to the detenues in need. Earlier this year, DGP Prisons, J&K visited Uttar Pradesh Prison Headquarter, Central Jail Varanasi and District Jail Lucknow. |
