RAJOURI, Mar 24: Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Talim Teachers Forum (JKRETTF) has appealed the Director School Education Jammu to exempt the schools falling in summer zones of Jammu division from the latest order regarding the provision of mid day meal to students of closed schools at their doorstep.
District President JKRETTF Aftab Tantray said, "We all know that whole of our country is reeling under the Corona disaster. It has thrown the life out of order in our UT also. All business establishments and educational institutions have been closed. All are advised to remain indoors. All including the teaching fraternity and school going children are indoors. As we are well aware that the academic session in summer zones of Jammu Division is off and new admissions were only to be followed by results whereas a recent order by the concerned quarter is being issued for providing MDM at the doorsteps of students is totally non understandable".
As the schools are already closed after the completion of academic session and exams, it would be inconvenient to reach out to the doorstep of every student. Moreover in current lockdown situation when transportation system is out of order, it would be impossible for teachers to reach the schools, he said. |
