Poonch, Mar 24: Bringing another disgrace to their noble profession, a woman lost her life due to negligence adopted by the doctors and the hospital administration of District Hospital Poonch by not providing the patient timely treatment.
As per reports, Nazma Qureshi (33) daughter of Mohammad Sultan Shiekh resident of Surankote Bulflyaz of district Poonch had suffered with some medical emergency in the middle of on March 22 and was immediately rushed to the District Hospital Poonch by her parents for treatment. “When we reached hospital, no doctor was available at that time, after inquiring about the doctor, when doctor reached but she didn’t attend the patient initially for lot of time due to which the condition of patient got deteriorated,” said family members Mohd Shafiq Sheikh and Mohd Safeer.
They alleged that the doctor and the medical staff continued to ignore the worsening condition of patient.
“After creating hue and cry by us, the doctor asked to arrange blood just to keep us away by saying that the treatment will be initiated when blood will be arranged,” said Mohd Shokat another family member. The reporter, who was also present on the spot, started making video from his mobile about the behaviour of hospital staff, which was objected by the doctor but he didn’t listen to them continue to discharge his social duty.
Meanwhile, reporter called the concerned SHO, and DySP and narrated the entire incident as result they also reached in the hospital and asked the doctor on duty to call Medial Superintendent but she declined to do so, which showed the arrogance of the hospital administration. Due to delay in giving treatment to the patient, the youth woman died the next day, which evoke strong anguish in the parents and her relatives against the hospital administration.
They alleged that the condition of hospital so bad that no sanitization steps have been taken despite Coronavirus threat in the State.
They appealed to Director Health Services to take action against such doctors and also demanded transfer the doctors who have sitting here for the last many years in violation of norms and also urged to send new team of doctors in the hospital.
