Graduate Engineers Association Civil submit online memorandum, project demands | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 17: All Jammu & Kashmir Graduate Engineers Association Civil (GEASSOC) submitted an on-line memorandum highlighting the burning issues being faced by the graduate Engineers. Speaking in the executive meeting President GEASSOC Gandeep Pargal urged the Lt. Governor and Principal Secretary R&B for redressal of long pending issues of Graduate Engineers which include filling of all available vacancies from Assistant Engineers to Chief Engineer level. The issues of promotions of Degree Engineers from Asst. Engineer to Asst. Ex. Engineer and JE to AE as per fixed quota were discussed threadbare and all the members in one voice condemned the attitude of previous administrative department of PWD (R&B) who not only ignored the rules but also the judgments of High Court from time to time. Neeraj Sharma, Vice President of the association said that the practice of maintaining cadre strength in engineering departments is totally wrong and the posts falling vacant after retirement or promotions goes to pool and has to be filled in the ratio of 80 Graduate and 20 Diploma of the available vacant posts but what R&B department has done regarding promotions of AE to AEE after implementation of SRO 296 of 2006 that out of 387 promotions 292 degree and 95 diploma holders got promotions whereas if proper rules should have been adopted it should halve been 309 degree and 78 diploma, which clearly shows 17 excess diploma holders have been elevated at the cost of degree engineers.
