Bacheri Balnoi residents decry official apathy | Urge LG Sinha to direct officials to construct bridge | | M S Nazki Early Times Report
MENDHAR, Aug 17; Residents of Bacheri Balnoi Mankote in Poonch district are up in arms against the administration for its alleged failure to construct a bridge. Residents told Early Times that in rainy season people face life threat and many of them in the past have got drowned due in the river non availability of bridge. “The Mankote is on the edge and is easy target of Pakistan Army. During shelling it becomes very difficult to shift the injured. Many lives have been lost in the last 40years,” they claimed. Residents said that the work on the bridge was started by Ex MLA Javed Ahmed Rana in 2015 but after 10 days work was stopped and since then nothing has been done. “We have visited the BDO’s office on many occasions but our pleas to get the work restarted have fallen flat,” they added. They urged Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to direct the officials to resume the work on the bridge without any further delay. |
