JU, CUHP organize National Level Reading Skill Competition | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 17: On the occasion of 128th birth anniversary of Father of Library and Information Science, Padma Shri Dr. S.R. Ranganathan celebrated as National Librarians’ Day, the NSS Campus Units, University of Jammu, Jammu J&K and Centre for S.R. Ranganathan Library Studies, Central University of Himachal Pradesh organized “National Level Reading Skill Competition” on the theme “Importance of Libraries in Your Education” from 9th August to 12th August, 2020. Ranganathan’s National Heritage-The Five Laws of Library Science: The Second Law, “Every Reader His /Her Book ,” assumes immense significance these days also. By adhering the social distancing norms and other SOP conditions as under Covid-19, a large number of NSS Volunteers, Students, Scholars, Teachers, Library Professionals, Alumni and Parents in all age groups participated in the competition. The participants had to write and then upload 40 Second video recording while reading about “Importance of Libraries in Your Education” and also uploading the photograph of their write up. Hundreds of participants took part in the competition from various academic institutions across India. Two participants participated from Indonesia. Participants have participated the event with great enthusiasm and fervor. E-Certificates were awarded to each participant for their participation in the event as a mark of appreciation. |
