YLA appeals LG to review welfare policy for lawyers | | | EARLY TIMES REPOR
JAMMU, Aug 17: President Young Lawyers Association (YLA), J&K High Court, Jammu has appealed to newly appointed Lt Governor of UT of J&K to review and revise its policy pertaining to welfare of lawyers as in this pandemic of Coronavirus, it is one of the most affected professionals as courts are closed from the month of March. Issuing a press statement here today after the conclusion of a virtual mode meeting of office bearers of Young Lawyers Association, J&K High Court, Jammu, the president Nitin Bakhshi said that since last five months there is no regular working of courts which has made the life of several people a hell and lawyers are one of them. On the occasion, Sarvesh Kotwal, Vice-President of the association; Upasana Thakur, General Secretary of the association; Suraj Plathia, Joint secretary of the association and Amzi Arthur John, Cashier of the association urged upon the president of the association to appeal to the Lt Governor of J&K to consider their demand and release another package of around ten times greater value than earlier one issued by then Lt Governor as it was not enough and sufficient according to the number of young lawyers of whole UT of J&K. Bakhshi also appealed to the Lt. Governor of J&K that the proposal of E-Stamping which is to be launched should be friendly to the stamp vendors as they should be issued e-licenses to sell out stamps, as the persons attached with this profession from several years should not be made unemployed and left to starve.
