Revoke order to abolish Self Help Groups, demands Tajinder Singh | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 17: Social activist Tajinder Singh urged upon Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to revoke the order to abolish Self Help Groups of Unemployed Engineers and their 30% quota of works. While reacting on recent order of UT Administration to abolish the quota of Self Help Groups in construction and upgradation of infrastructure works in various government departments and corporations, Singh said that this is another anti people decision of government, which is indirectly ruling J&K. The government is also set to abolish various engg.wings and to merge the same with PWD which will further increase unemployment for young engineers passing out every year from various institutions. Singh said these groups are not only earning and feeding their own families but also generating employment for other which are working directly or indirectly with these Self Help Groups. Tajinder Singh also welcome the statement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that polls in Jammu and Kashmir will be conducted soon and the ‘Delimitation Process’ is underway in the Union Territory of J&K. Tajinder singh said result oriented measure for restoration of political and election process imperatives to end Socio Political Uncertainty and bring peace and normalcy in troubled J&K. “Till effective measures are worked out in this regard any idea of appointing political advisors for LG of J&K to make connections with people at grass root level would be in larger interest of common populace,”Tajinder said.
